Sailboat Elopement in North Idaho
Eeek! This is one of my favorite locations to shoot. My husband grew up in North Idaho and found a passion for sailing on the beautiful lakes there. I have always loved being on the water, so it was so special for me to be able to join him on the lake, and I even learned to sail! (Just on a catamaran but I was very proud to successfully navigate to Kidd Island on Lake Coeur d'Alene by myself.) When the opportunity arose for us to shoot a sailboat elopement in Bayview, Idaho, I was thrilled.
For starters, this is Idaho! I feel like when we think of sailboat elopements, we're immediately thinking somewhere in a coastal state, so it's so cool that Idaho offers these amazing views and lake. We started off with a few photos and then just chilled and enjoyed a little sail around the lake until sunset.
It was a bit tricky getting used to the boat moving while my eye was looking through the view finder, but honestly going barefoot really helped with balance. A little tip, use the sail to create shade if needed. Here are a few more photos of the day.
